DMCA / Copyright Policy

Last updated July 10, 2026 · Version 1.0

Effective date: July 10, 2026

LeonAI LTD ("LeonAI," "we," "us") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the LeonAI Links service (the "Service") to do the same. This policy describes how we respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 ("DMCA"), and equivalent laws.

1. How Copyright Works on a URL Shortener

The Service hosts short links, QR codes, link metadata, and link-in-bio pages. In most cases we do not host the content found at a Destination URL — that content resides with the destination site's hosting provider, which is usually the correct recipient of a takedown notice and the only party able to remove the material from the internet.

Nevertheless:

  • Where a Short Link points to clearly infringing material, we will disable the Short Link so that it no longer resolves.
  • Where infringing material is hosted by us (for example, an image uploaded to a link-in-bio page or a custom QR code logo), we will remove the material itself.

Disabling a Short Link does not remove the underlying content from the destination site; complainants should also notify the destination's hosting provider.

2. Designated Copyright Agent

Notices of claimed infringement should be sent to our designated agent:

DMCA Agent: LeonAI LTD (designated agent) Avraham Pachornik 17, Ness Ziona, Israel Email: care@leonai.io (subject line: "DMCA Notice")

Registration status. Our designated agent is in the process of being registered with the U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory. Until that registration is complete, the safe harbour under 17 U.S.C. § 512 does not apply to us, and we say so rather than imply a protection we do not yet hold. This does not affect how we handle notices: we act on valid takedown requests sent to the address above on the timelines set out below.

3. Filing a Takedown Notice

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your written notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works are covered);
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to locate it — for the Service, this means the full Short Link URL(s) (e.g., https://short.leonai.io/abc123) and, where relevant, the Destination URL and the specific link-in-bio page or hosted asset;
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.

Incomplete notices may be rejected or may result in a request for further information. We accept notices concerning non-U.S. works under equivalent national laws; the same information should be provided.

4. What We Do When We Receive a Valid Notice

Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to:

  1. Review the notice and the identified Short Link(s) or hosted material;
  2. Disable the Short Link (it will return HTTP 410 Gone with a notice page) and/or remove the hosted material;
  3. Notify the Customer who created the link, providing a copy of the notice (complainant contact details included, as the statute contemplates);
  4. Record the action in our audit logs and the Customer's repeat-infringer history.

5. Counter-Notification

If your Short Link or content was disabled and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the agent in Section 2 containing, per 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3):

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the material that was disabled and the location at which it appeared (the Short Link URL);
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, [FEDERAL DISTRICT FOR DMCA CONSENT — e.g., the district where LeonAI's agent is located]), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or their agent.

We will forward the counter-notification to the original complainant. Unless the complainant notifies us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity, we may restore the disabled Short Link or material within 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notification.

6. Repeat Infringer Policy

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. As a guideline, an account that accumulates three substantiated infringement notices within any 12-month period (not successfully rebutted by counter-notification) will be terminated. We may depart from this guideline where circumstances warrant — for example, immediate termination of accounts created primarily to distribute infringing links.

7. Misrepresentation

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner, or LeonAI. Do not submit false claims.

8. Trademark and Other IP Complaints

This policy covers copyright. For trademark complaints — including short codes, custom back-halves, or link-in-bio pages that impersonate a brand — email care@leonai.io with the subject line "Trademark Complaint," identifying the trademark, its registration details, the offending Short Link(s), and the basis of the complaint. We review trademark complaints under the Acceptable Use Policy's prohibitions on impersonation and deception.

9. No Legal Advice; Modifications

This page is provided for information and does not constitute legal advice; consider consulting counsel before submitting a notice or counter-notification. We may update this policy from time to time; the version posted at links.leonai.io/legal/dmca with the latest effective date governs. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
